Primary Level (Class I to V)

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
    • OR, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
    • OR, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
    • OR, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
    • OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

Upper Primary Level (Class VI to VIII)

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
    • OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
    • OR, Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
    • OR, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
    • OR, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.

Exam Pattern for JTET 2024

The JTET consists of two papers:

  1. Paper I: For candidates who wish to teach classes I to V.
  2. Paper II: For candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII.

Candidates aspiring to teach both primary and upper primary levels must appear for both papers.
